The essentials

In life, and in between manicures, your nails deserve a little love. Below are the products we use in our day-to-day for healthy, happy hands.

  1. Aesop Hand Lotion

Aesop is our favorite lotion brand of all time. Their Body Balm is the only lotion that was actually effective on during one of my eczema breakouts. The brands hand creams come in two scents, one that is more citrusy (our fav on the left) and another that has a more woody scent. It’s expensive, a 2.6 oz bottle is $27.00, but you’ll totally fall in love.

2. Top Coat

If your gel starts lifting, a stone falls off, or you have a partial break in a nail, a clear top coat can help stick things together until your next appointment. Our favorite top coat is the Essie Gel Couture Top Coat since it has a similar shine to gel polish and has a thick consistency that makes it a good temporary stone glue.

3. Hair, SKin & Nails multivitamin

If you’re going to take a vitamin, you might as well get three-in-one. This is an item that we recommend for people who want to strengthen their nails, or get manicures often. Vitamins are also generally good for you, so yeah, there’s that.

4. crystal nail file

I got a glass nail file for free and my life has never been the same. The abrasive texture of the glass is much more gentle than an emery board file and gives the nail edge a super smooth finish. I very much recommend getting your own, the files pictured on the right have a lifetime guarantee!

5. Cuticle Oil

Moisturizing your cuticles is a good practice for those who get manicures monthly. Cuccio’s cuticle oil is super lightweight and smells of milk and honey. It comes in a 2.5 oz bottle, which is rather large and will last you a very long time!
