Our beloved art form didn’t grace the fingers of many celebs at the Oscars this year, but that doesn’t mean we can’t take this time to appreciate a regular mani. The nice thing is that many of our favorite stars wore affordable polishes that you can pick up just about anywhere. Here are our fav manicure’s of Hollywood’s biggest night, starting with the best dressed (in my opinion), JLo.

JLo’s glowing sparkle mani

Celebrity manicurist Tom Bachik has done nails for celebs like Heidi Klum, Selena Gomez and of course, Jennifer Lopez. Bachik painted Lopez’s nails for the 2019 Oscars using the shade “Cream” by Bio Seaweed Gel, a proud big-5 (top 5 harmful chemicals) free professional gel brand. He topped the color off with a sparkly top coat to match the mirrored dress. On his instagram Bachik also said he used CND cuticle oil and lotion by La Mer.

Constance Wu’s bold Nails

Constance Wu had her manicure done by celeb nail stylist Christina Aviles. Wu is one of her regular clients, along with Chloe Grace Moretz, Olivia Coleman (winner of the 2019 Oscar for best actress!) and Melissa McCarthy (who was also nominated for best actress). Popsugar Australia cited Wu’s manicure as the unseen star of her look, and I have to agree. Most people went neutral or matching this year with their polish color, so I was so happy to see Aviles go big with Essie’s “Spiked with Style” from their Gel Couture Nail polish collection. It’s only $12 on Amazon! Listed a deep wine color, the purple undertones were the perfect contrast color to Wu’s yellow dress, which was inspired by director Jon M Chu’s letter to Coldplay about the song “Yellow” for the finale of Crazy Rich Asians. According to Popsugar.Au, Aviles chose the color to add edge and keep the look from getting too princess-y.

Regina King’s winning color

Regina King stunned with her elegant white gown on Sunday, and in keeping it cool King’s nail stylist Celeb Nail Stylist Rae Getter of Frenchie’s Woodbury used CND’s Winter Glow as her color of choice. A pale pink, Getter chose the color to compliment, while not distract from, King’s dress. The color is only $15 on Amazon or even at Walmart! She then reverse frenched the look with rose gold glitter at the cuticle. We’re loving the artistic touch to King’s look! If we are ever on the west coast we are totally stopping by!

Lady gaga’s “secret” Mani

Gaga’s emotional Oscars performance with Bradley Cooper might be Stirring Secrets, just like name of her nail polish color! The brand’s new color is only $9 on Essie, and according to Refinery29 could be the brand’s next big nude to usurp Ballet Slippers. Gaga has been known to work with well known nail artists like Naomi Yasuda and Ash Crowe, and this year she collaborated with Japanese nail artist Miho Okawara. Gaga’s overall look was inspired by Audrey Hepburn, as the diamond she was wearing was last worn by the legend herself, so we’re not surprised she went with a nude to keep it classic. Okawara finished with a coat of Essie’s Gel Couture Platinum Grade Top Coat and an apricot cuticle oil.
